## Eye exams and health

### Do you perform eye exams on-site, or do I need my own prescription?

Yes, and no need to bring anything. Our in-store exams are done by a certified optometrist with a master's degree (M.Sc.) and many years of experience, so there is no need for an existing prescription, and your lenses are crafted by the world's finest manufacturers. The exam is on us for anyone buying eyeglasses or contact lenses here.

### What does the eye exam include, and how long does it take?

This is a thorough exam, not a two-minute screening. We measure your vision precisely, check your eye health with professional instruments, and explain each step as we go. Set aside about 30 to 45 minutes. There is nothing you need to bring, though your current glasses or last prescription are helpful if they are handy.

### Do you provide the eye test for the Licensing Office (driver's license)?

Yes, gladly. We perform the vision test the Licensing Office (Misrad HaRishui) requires for renewing or issuing a driver's license. It is a simpler, standard test, separate from a full eye exam, and it costs 50 NIS. It is a frequently requested service, so just drop by during opening hours or message us to set a time.

### Do you check eye health, or only my glasses prescription?

We look well beyond your glasses number. A thorough exam can pick up early signs of conditions like glaucoma and cataracts, and even hints of diabetes or high blood pressure. If we spot anything that calls for a physician, we will tell you and point you toward a referral.

### Do you fit contact lenses, not just glasses?

Absolutely. Contact lens fittings include the precise corneal and tear-film measurements that make for a safe, comfortable fit. It is a more detailed process than a standard glasses exam, so it helps to let us know in advance and we will set the time aside for you.

## Lenses and prescription

### It's my first time with progressive (multifocal) lenses. What if I can't adjust?

You are in good hands. Progressive lenses live or die by the fitting, so we measure and fit them carefully to make the adjustment as smooth as it can be. If something feels off, we fix it. We will not leave you to struggle with an expensive pair.

### I have a strong prescription. Can it work in fashion or wrap-around frames?

In many cases, yes. Strong prescriptions in curved or wrap frames call for careful lens choice to avoid distortion and thick edges, and that is exactly where an in-person fitting with our optometrist earns its keep. We will tell you honestly which frames will look beautiful with your prescription.

### Can I get prescription lenses fitted into designer sunglasses (e.g., Dior, Cartier, Saint Laurent)?

In most cases, yes. The majority of the sunglasses we carry can be glazed with prescription lenses, progressives and high prescriptions included. Turnaround depends on the lens complexity and the specific frame, and we will confirm both feasibility and timing the moment you pick a frame.

### How long does it take to receive my glasses after ordering lenses?

Simple single-vision lenses are usually ready within a few business days, while progressive or complex prescriptions tend to take a bit longer. When you order, we will give you a realistic estimate for your exact lenses.

## Authentic, warranty and price

### Is Opticnet an authorized retailer for the brands you carry?

Yes, and it matters to us that you know it: every brand at Opticnet comes straight through authorized, official distribution channels, never gray-market resellers. So every pair you take home arrives with full manufacturer backing, genuine packaging, and warranty coverage.

### How can I be sure the frames I buy are genuine, not counterfeit?

Every frame we sell arrives in its original brand packaging, with the authenticity markers the brand provides (serial numbers, hologram tags, or certificates), and it all checks out against our authorized-dealer status. Honestly, buying from an independent boutique with a direct distributor relationship is one of the strongest safeguards you have against counterfeits in luxury eyewear.

### Will I be pressured to buy? Can I take my prescription and shop around?

We never pressure you. The exam comes with honest advice and zero pressure, and you are always welcome to take your time. It is free when you buy your glasses or contact lenses here. If you would rather just take the prescription and shop elsewhere, a standalone exam costs 400 NIS. Either way, the prescription is yours to use anywhere. We would genuinely rather you leave with the right pair than with any pair.

### Why are your prices similar to the brand's own, and higher than some sellers online?

Authentic luxury eyewear costs about the same at every authorized dealer, because the maison sets the price. Those deep online discounts are usually a red flag for counterfeit or gray-market goods, which carry no real warranty and, in sunglasses, often no genuine UV protection. With us the price also buys you a professional fitting, a genuine manufacturer warranty, and free adjustments for life.

### What is your return and exchange policy?

Unworn frames in their original condition, with all the packaging, can be returned or exchanged within a reasonable window of purchase, just hold on to your invoice. Custom-fitted prescription orders can carry different terms, so ask us at the time of purchase and we will spell out the exact policy for your item.

### What warranty comes with my frames?

Every frame carries the manufacturer's standard warranty against production defects, usually one to two years. It covers manufacturing faults, not accidental damage, scratches, or normal wear, and we are always happy to walk you through the exact terms for your specific brand.

### How can I tell if Cartier glasses are genuine?

Genuine Cartier frames carry a cleanly engraved serial and model code inside the temple, precise country-of-origin marks, and premium materials such as titanium, buffalo horn or precious metals. There is no public serial database, so the truly safe check is buying from an authorized retailer like us.

### Why do luxury frames cost more than regular glasses?

You are paying for authentic materials (titanium, premium Italian acetate, precious metals), hand finishing, engineered hinges and real provenance, plus a genuine warranty and in-person service. Well-made frames last for years, which brings the cost per wear right down.

### Who makes the fashion houses' eyewear (Gucci, Dior, Fendi, and more)?

The fashion houses license their eyewear to specialist manufacturers who build it in Italy to the house's own design and quality standards. It is genuine, house-designed and quality-controlled eyewear.

### What is the difference between titanium and acetate frames?

The practical difference: titanium is a metal, very light, strong, rust resistant and hypoallergenic, with a thin minimalist look that holds its adjustment for years, though it costs more. Acetate is a premium cotton-derived plastic, warm and rich in colour and pattern, with a bolder presence and a little more weight, and it is easy to re-adjust with heat. How to choose: if you want a barely there feel or your skin reacts to metals, titanium wins. If you want colour, character and a style statement, acetate is the one. Many customers keep a pair of each for different occasions. Come in, try both on and feel which one sits and suits you best.

### What makes DITA eyewear special?

DITA is handmade in Japan from premium Japanese titanium and fine acetates, through a long and meticulous process. It carries decades of Japanese optical craftsmanship.

### What makes Cartier eyewear special?

Cartier draws on the Maison's jewelry heritage, with iconic lines such as Santos, Panthère and Signature C, in materials up to 18k gold and buffalo horn. Each frame is finished with the precision of a jewelry house.

### Why is Mykita so light, and why no screws?

Mykita is handmade in Berlin and uses a patented screwless spiral hinge, so the frame flexes and adjusts without a single loose screw. Built from ultra-thin stainless steel, acetate or MYLON, the frames are remarkably light and durable.

### What makes Cutler and Gross special?

A British house founded in 1969, Cutler and Gross handcrafts its frames in its own Italian atelier from rich Italian acetate. Its models are numbered rather than named, a signature it has kept since its very first frame.

### What is the story behind Garrett Leight?

Garrett Leight California Optical is designed in Los Angeles with a relaxed California aesthetic and handcrafted from premium acetates. The founder grew up in eyewear, and that is what gives the brand its deep craft roots.

### What makes Chopard eyewear luxurious?

Chopard is a Swiss house founded in 1860, and its eyewear carries fine watch and jewelry craftsmanship, including frames in 18k gold. Since 2018 Chopard has worked exclusively in ethical gold.

### What is Youmawo, and what makes 3D-printed frames special?

Youmawo makes 3D-printed frames in Germany that are exceptionally light, with rich colours and a smooth finish that is hard to achieve in regular acetate. A lovely bonus: the process creates far less waste. We carry their ready collection for you to try on and choose in the shop. Youmawo's face-scanning bespoke service is not something we offer here.

## Frames, styling and fit

### Can I book a private styling consultation?

We would love that. Message us on WhatsApp or call to set up a private, unhurried session where our optician helps you find the frames that suit your face, your colouring, and your life.

### How do I know which frame shape suits my face?

That is exactly what our in-store consultation is for, and it is one of the most fun parts of the job. Our team will guide you through shapes, proportions, and materials based on your face and your personal style, something a self-service chain simply cannot replicate. Come by during opening hours or message us to set a time.

### Can I reserve or try on frames before buying, and can I browse/reserve online?

You are welcome to call or message us on WhatsApp to check what is in stock or ask us to set a specific model aside for you to try in-store. For now, trying on and buying happen here in the boutique, which lets us fit and advise you properly on every frame.

### Do you offer free adjustments, cleaning, or minor repairs after purchase?

Yes, and gladly. Complimentary adjustments and cleaning come with every pair from Opticnet, for as long as the frames are yours. It is one of those things a personal boutique relationship gives you that a big chain generally does not.

## Care and tips

### Can I clean my lenses with my shirt or sweater?

Please don't, it is a really common mistake. The fibres in fabric trap dust and act like fine sandpaper, scratching the coating over time. Reach for a microfibre cloth and a little water or lens spray instead.

### My glasses slide down when I sweat, what helps?

Usually it is simply a question of fit: bring them in and we will adjust the nose pads and temples for free. And for sport, silicone nose pads and a strap work wonders.

### My lenses keep fogging up, is there a fix?

There is. An anti-fog cloth or spray made for eyewear works a treat. Just avoid wiping cold lenses while they are dry.

### How should I store them to avoid scratches?

The rule is simple: in a hard case, lenses facing up, never resting on the lenses themselves.

### My frames feel loose or crooked, can you fix that?

Happily. Bring them in and we will realign and tighten them for free, for as long as they are yours.

### Do I need blue-light lenses for screens?

For most people it is a matter of preference, not necessity. What really helps tired eyes at a screen is short breaks (look far away every 20 minutes) and good lighting. If you spend long hours at a screen and feel strain, a blue-light filter can be added to your lenses, and we are happy to advise based on how you use them.

### My lenses are scratched, can they be repaired?

Honestly, no. A scratch in the coating cannot be removed, and 'repair kits' just smear it. If a scratch bothers your vision, the right fix is replacing the lenses. Bring the frame in and we will fit fresh lenses with the same prescription.

### How often should I update my prescription or replace my glasses?

Rule of thumb: an eye exam every one to two years, and sooner if something changes, like headaches, blur, or trouble driving at night. The frame itself can last for years; usually you only replace the lenses when the prescription changes.

### My glasses leave red marks on my nose, what can I do?

Usually it means the glasses are not adjusted well or are a little heavy on the nose. Pop in and we will adjust the nose pads and check the weight and balance. Sometimes switching to a light titanium frame solves it completely.

### I am travelling, how should I look after my glasses on the road?

Always in a hard case inside your bag, never loose in a pocket. Pack a microfibre cloth, and a backup pair or prescription sunglasses is well worth it. If you wear contacts, bring glasses too, in case your eyes get tired.

## Payment, visit and shipping

### Can I use my Kupat Cholim (health fund) benefits or vision insurance here?

Many Israeli health funds and supplementary plans offer partial reimbursement for eyewear. Bring your health fund card and we will happily help you check your eligibility and sort out any paperwork right at the counter.

### What payment methods do you accept, and do you offer installment plans?

We accept all the major credit cards and offer installment plans (תשלומים) on qualifying purchases. Just ask our team in-store and we will walk you through the current options.

### Where are you located, and is there parking near Kikar HaMedina?

You will find us at Hei Be'Iyar 58, right in the heart of Kikar HaMedina, Tel Aviv's most prestigious shopping district. It is an easy trip by car or taxi: metered street parking around the square and paid garages nearby, several bus lines stop close by, and the light rail is a short ride away. Tell us when you plan to visit and we will point you to the most convenient parking.

### Do you ship outside Tel Aviv / nationally, or is purchase in-store only?

For now, purchases are completed in-store, so we can fit and advise you properly on your frames. If you are travelling in from outside Tel Aviv, reach out ahead on WhatsApp or by phone and we will have a specific model ready and waiting for you to try.
