TAG Heuer eyewear returned in 2024 after an eight-year gap. The first line ran from 2002 to 2016, then the brand stopped, and in 2024 it relaunched with Thélios, the LVMH group's eyewear house. Design is done in Switzerland and production in Europe, principally in Italy. The materials are titanium, bio-nylon, recycled graphite and a fibre called Dyneema, which the brand states is fifteen times stronger than steel for its weight. The line we keep in the boutique is Essential: slim and rimless optical frames for everyday wear.
TAG Heuer goes all the way back to 1860, when Edouard Heuer opened his workshop in Switzerland. The name is best known for precision watches and a deep history in motor racing, and that same engineering mindset now shapes its eyewear.
The frames are built to be light, flexible and tough. They use aerospace grade titanium and a high tech fibre called Dyneema, which is many times stronger than steel for its weight, so the glasses handle real daily wear and sport without feeling heavy. The range is split into lines for performance, for sport and for everyday use.
This is eyewear for people who care about how something is made, not just how it looks.

TAG Heuer is for people on the move who want light, tough frames. Performance and sport lines use titanium and Dyneema fibre - flexible, durable, not heavy. Sporty and rectangular shapes flatter an active look; everyday lines work for the office after training.
The language: watch and racing engineering - less glam, more material and performance. If you break ordinary frames or wear glasses for long active hours, this is a smart direction.
In 2026 black, metallic grey and red/orange brand accents lead. Check flex and grip behind the ear. We will help choose sport versus everyday and fit prescription where possible.

What we keep is the Essential line: slim and rimless optical frames, plus one rectangular sun model. All of them have a 17 mm bridge and 145 mm temples, so a medium to medium-large fit band. Worth saying clearly that these are not the brand's sports models, they are city frames for everyday wear.

It is TAG Heuer's lens technology. The brand describes it as combining the clarity of a non-polarised lens with control of glare, and states that it cuts around 47 percent of polarised light, raises contrast and keeps digital screens readable. Those are the manufacturer's figures rather than a test of ours, but you can judge them in the boutique.

Several things help. The brand supplies an interchangeable nose pad system in three sizes, some models have bio-rubber temples that bend and adjust, and on part of the range there is no conventional hinge, the frame flexing with the material instead. In practice the fit is set at the appointment, and we adjust it here.
