In 1962 Patricia Ramo's family began working in eyewear in Barcelona. Her grandfather set up an eyewear factory in the city, and her father, Luis Ramo, carried it on.
In 2019 the name GIGI Barcelona changed to GIGI Studios. Patricia is now the CEO.

VANGUARD is the house's bold, fashion-led collection, and where the sunglasses come from. ICONS brings classic shapes in unisex cuts. LAB is about lightness, and includes titanium models. XS is small sizes for small faces, and there is a men's collection too.
For VANGUARD in spring-summer 2024 the house used Italian acetate from Mazzucchelli, including recycled and organic material.

What the size means
In a size like 47-20, the first number is the width of each lens and the second is the bridge over the nose, both in millimetres.
Your current glasses have their size printed on the inside of the temple. A few millimetres either way is fine, and we fine-tune the fit in the boutique.

PORTLAND is the other side of the range, titanium from the LAB line in size 55, unisex, and unusually light for anyone who wants a frame they barely feel. If you are torn between the two, the difference in weight and presence is obvious the moment you try one after the other.
On colour, it is worth not playing safe. The same model exists in a quiet havana and also in green or pink, and the digit after the slash in the reference is exactly that, the colour code. In the boutique we will put several shades of the same frame side by side, because on a face the difference is far bigger than it looks on a shelf.

Yes, exactly the same brand. In 2019 the name changed from GIGI Barcelona to GIGI Studios, the company stayed in Barcelona and the reference numbers did not change. So if you have an older pair and want the same model again, or a spare part, bring us the number stamped inside the temple and we will search by it.

The digits before the slash are the model reference and the digit after it is the colour code. Here 64900 is the BROOKS model and the 8 is the transparent finish. It is useful because one model comes in ten or more colourways and it is easy to confuse them between photos online. If you have seen a colour you liked, send us the full number and we will know exactly what it is.

The easiest way to feel the difference is to try one from each.

By the manufacturer's instructions: clean with the microfibre pouch that comes in the box or a fine cotton cloth, and you can also wash with water and a little mild soap and dry it. Never with a paper towel, which scratches. It matters especially not to use alcohol, solvents or strong cleaning products, and not to leave the glasses in a car in the sun. On warranty, the terms run through the importer here, so ask us and we will tell you exactly what applies.
